SERMON - THE BOOK OF REVELATION IN WORDS OF UNDERSTANDING part 27

The Book of Revelation
In
Words of Understanding
Part 27

We have been through the entirety of the many revelations John was privy to as he witnessed all that God wanted him to reveal to His servants. We have learned that what the RCC, Protestant as well as the many (so-called) Christian preaching churches seek to teach us about their concepts of God’s Word as set forth in this most informative Book of the Bible. The, almost science fiction, being taught is now debunked as we have been exposed to the truth as revealed to John.

The remainder of the Book of Revelation may be taken as a recap of all that has been related, a final Invitation to those who have not truly accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and, a warning issued by God depicting that which awaits any that twist (change the meaning of) or add to God’s Word.

With this said, I shall now complete the last Verses, 14-21, of this most meaningful Book. In my next sermon I shall attempt to set forth a ‘Key to The Symbols’ that John used to set forth the Word as it was revealed to him.

Revelation 22: 14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.

We must be reminded that in Revelation 22:13 Jesus is the Speaker of these last verses.

This sets forth the Words of TRUE Christians being blessed. Those who have confessed their sins to God and have repented from further sin and to God are seen as TRUE Christians and are invited to enter God’s Paradise as worthy of eternal life.

For edification of the preceding 7 blessings set forth in this Book you may wish to reference Revelation 1:3; 14:13 ; 16:5; 19:9; 20:7 and 22:7

15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

In the days wherein Jesus lived here on earth dogs were seen as disreputable and disease ridden creatures that scavenged around cities. Cities sought to exclude any men and women that were equated with what were ‘dogs.’ People that engaged in the occult, sexual misbehavior, murder, idolaters, lying to gain the goods of another, fraud and deceit, and foregoing belief in God while embracing the evils of Satan were referred to as dogs.

The warning here is clear! Make sure you are in!

16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

Jesus is telling us that He has sent His messenger to speak directly to His churches (us). He is the promised Offspring of David as is read in Numbers 24:17; Isaiah 9:6; 12:1 and 10 as well as 2:28 . As the Bright Morning Star (Numbers 24:17) He is the welcomer of each new day. As the One promised in the Old Testament (324 times) He is the fulfillment of both the Old and New.

17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

This is the final call for to ALL to come. Those who thirst need only to accept Him and in doing so will receive the Holy Spirit (water of life) will gain salvation through Him.

18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

I cannot add anything to make more clear Jesus’ warning to stress the absolute seriousness respecting adding to or twisting the meaning of God’s Word. Any that do so are certainly NOT A PERSON OF GOD! As such they will have no protection of the seal of God and will not be one to partake of the Salvation offered by TRUE Christianity.

20 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon."
      Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Jesus promises His return again and, as He has not had been told the exact date of His Second Coming, chooses to use the word “soon” to foretell of this forthcoming event. In doing so His warning may be taken as, “Do not believe in any that set a date of My return.”

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.

John has added what can best be described as his P.S.. In adding these final words he is saying, “The blessings of the Lord depend on the undeserved love that God so willingly bestows upon His children, SO BE IT.”

So, we conclude as I say, the primary importance stressed throughout God’s Word (Bible) is that we all work together in love and fellowship as we await His glorious reappearance. We must remain as His faithful servants and be ready for Him WHEVER HE COMES. In doing so we will leave this earthly plain and live with Him forever…and ever…and ever.

(Closing prayer)

Father we sing and shout Hallelujah, Halleluah, Hallelujah as we praise You. And seek to make known our love and worship of You. It is by the Salvation granted us through Jesus Christ that we are saved. It is by the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we are truly led to You.

Lord, You are our reason for living. You are our sole desire as there is nothing here on this earth that equals the reward that awaits Your servants. You are our hope and the true desire of our hearts. All glory is Yours.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You enter our hearts and be with us forever and ever. It is by Your sacrifice and death that we are saved. It is by Your resurrection that we are promised eternal live. It is by Your sending us the Holy Spirit that we gain the knowledge to do Your bidding and walk the life of true Christians.

Holy Spirit, we thank You for the knowledge You choose to impart and for the many gifts bestowed upon us.

Father, it is by Your teachings and the gift given us of Your Word, our Bible, that we are able to learn what is required of us to be seen as worthy in Your eyes. We are forever grateful O Lord and pray that You see us as such.

These things we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever,

Amen, amen and amen.
