AX THE TAX/WE DECIDE COALITION UPDATE Upon review of the lawsuit filed a week ago against our tax repeal referendum by friends of Gov. Brian “America’s Worst Governor” SandRINOval’s largest tax hike in Nevada history – including a new gross receipts tax like the one 80 percent of voters rejected at the ballot box last November – we’ll be filing a new referendum this week. We’ll still be targeting, word-for-word, the entire $1.4 billion tax hike enmeshed in SB483 - which means the new referendum will also draw a lawsuit challenging it as a violation of the “single subject rule.”  But the lawsuit’s criticism that our Description of Effect – taken directly from the bill itself - was confusing for the purpose of a referendum was a legitimate point. So we’re gonna change it. Also, since the opponents of the referendum indicated in their lawsuit that they might try to drag all 800+ individuals who signed the We Decide Coalition petition into court, I will file the new referendum as an individual on your behalf without listing everyone’s name on a cover letter like in the original.  It’s outrageous that you might be subjected to a lawsuit for simply trying to exercise your right to petition your government, but as Harry Reid warned recently, he and his compadres will do everything they can to stop this tax repeal effort. In any event, shortly after the new referendum is filed, I’ll be setting up a dedicated website where you’ll be able to begin downloading the petition and gathering signatures even as we battle the “single subject rule” in court.  So stand by… And while we won’t need the millions of dollars Reid, Sandoval, Sen.
