SILVER STATE CONFIDENTIAL 05/04/2015

RACIST!

On cue, liberals, race-hustlers and criminal apologists from sea to shining sea jumped all over me on Sunday after publishing my column titled, “I’ll surely be called a racist for this, nevertheless…”

Indeed, some yahoo going by the Twitter handle “NV Skeptic” twit-tweeted…

“Actually, Three-Tooth Muth, the protestors in Baltimore don't need to be taught nearly as much as you do.  Pipe down with racism.”

These people are as predictable as they are wrong.

By the way, there’s a hilarious oldie-but-goodie on the subject of how to avoid a butt-kicking by the police, courtesy of comedian Chris Rock…who was able to get away with this only because he’s black.  CLICK HERE

THE PRIMARY ELECTION SCAM

The effort to switch Nevada from a presidential caucus state to a primary state is an effort to further erode the power of grassroots activism here, providing an increased advantage to well-funded establishment candidates, as well as neuter the Nevada GOP.

Plus, a nomination primary, unlike the current caucus system, will cost taxpayers, not the Democrat and Republican political parties, millions of dollars to conduct.

Taxpayers who don’t belong to either party or aren’t even registered to vote.

Oh, and bet your bottom dollar that if Nevada switches from a caucus to a primary, we will lose our “first in the West” status – likely to Arizona, or maybe Colorado.

How ironic that so many people who complain about money dominating our political system are now pushing for an electoral change in Nevada that will greatly increase the power of money to dominate Nevada’s political system.

COUNTDOWN TO CAVE-IN

By refusing to draw a line in the sand way back at the start of the 2015 legislative session by declaring Gov. Brian Sandoval’s billion dollar tax hike D.O.A. (dead on arrival), Republicans in the state Assembly are now at a severe disadvantage with the constitutionally-mandated end-of-session just a month away.

Assembly Speaker-in-Reality Paul Anderson demonstrated why in a quote appearing in a Monday morning Las Vegas Review-Journal story…

“We’re on the downhill slope, and we all want to go home.”

Indeed, the desire to “go home” will increasingly become stronger than the desire to significantly reform and restrain government, inevitably leading to a massive tax hike that will cement the GOP’s reputation for never blowing an opportunity to blow an opportunity.

And make no mistake; this blown opportunity for Nevada Republicans will be the biggest blown opportunity of several generations.

Support for Sandoval’s tax hike, combined with the failure to enact serious, not tinker-around-the-edges, education reform will cost the GOP its legislative majorities in 2016.  Deservedly so.

Talk about stuck on stupid.

Thanks, Governor.

“Minorities of every color have more opportunity in the USA than in any country I'm aware.  Our poorest residents have more material possessions than anywhere on earth.  So to complain about racism is crying wolf in most cases.  My point is that nearly anyone who tries and doesn't give up at the first sign of resistance or trouble, can succeed in America.”  - J. S. McElhinney III, Reno, NV
