The Pit and the Pendulum of the Truth of Extinction !!!

WAKE UP AMERICA !
Very suddenly there came back to my soul motion and sound -- the tumultuous motion of the heart, and, in my ears, the sound of its beating. Then a pause in which all is blank. Then again sound, and motion, and touch -- a tingling sensation pervading my frame. Then the mere consciousness of existence, without thought -- a condition which lasted long. Then, very suddenly, thought, and shuddering terror, and earnest endeavor to comprehend my true state. Then a strong desire
to lapse into insensibility. Then a rushing revival of soul and a successful effort to move. And now a full memory of the trial, of the judges, of the sable draperies, of the sentence, of the sickness, of the swoon. Then entire forgetfulness of all that followed; of all that a later day and much earnestness of endeavor have
enabled me vaguely to recall. - Edgar Allan Poe

Yeshua saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have
seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him,
Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath
seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the
Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that
dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else
believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works
that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;

FORWARD TO EXTINCTION
by Tabitha Korol
Jay Michaelson, contributing editor to the Forward http://forward.com/author/jay-michaelson/ , holds a position of unearned, unwarranted, and undeserved influence.  Although he writes for a Jewish newspaper, he fails to inform his readers that Islam is the enemy of Israel, the Jewish people and, in fact, all of America, and makes judgments that work against their survival.  He would benefit by first reviewing facts:  By unanimous vote in 1922, the League of Nations set a precedent at the San Remo Conference that cannot be overturned or ignored.  After World War I and the division of the Ottoman Empire, the League legally gave Israel and surrounding Palestinian territory to the then-14 million Jews living there and in the Diaspora.  Palestine was declared the Jewish “reconstituted homeland” on April 24, 1920.  The Jews were always referred to as Palestinians during the British Mandate, before which there were never Palestinians or a Palestinian country.

International law was confirmed by the British Mandate, the San Remo Peace Conference and the League of Nations.  Two years later, in 1922, the League of Nations of 51 countries unanimously ratified the British Mandate.  This official documentation stands recognized as legitimate international law today and has never been superseded or replaced and is still binding.

Michaelson is advocating for Israel’s destruction, based on the Islamic Genocide Plan. With only a few key strokes on the keyboard, one can easily bring up a plethora of facts to verify the Islamic plans to annihilate Israel and the West.  A brief selection of quotes from the HAMAS Charter (1988) and infamous Islamists follow:

•         The Charter’s Preamble: “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it just as it obliterated others before it.”  (Translation: Islam will continue its 1400 years of destruction and death.)
•         Article 11: “The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgment Day.  It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up.”
•         Article 13: “There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by jihad.  The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility.”
Radical Islam has become a forum for calls of genocide against the Jews.  Of the many references provided by DiscovertheNetworks, a few samples of the ignoble spewing of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are:

•         "As the Imam [Ayatollah Khomeini] said, Israel must be wiped off the map.”
•         “... the annihilation of the Zionist regime will come.”
•         "The Islamic umma (community) will not allow its historic enemy [Israel] to live in its heartland."
•         "There is no doubt that the new wave [of attacks] in Palestine will soon wipe off this disgraceful blot [Israel] from the face of the Islamic world."
•         “liberating Palestine” would be "a key for solving the world’s problems"; and “anyone who loves freedom and justice must strive for the annihilation of the Zionist regime in order to pave the way for world justice and freedom.”

Hassan Nasrallah, Leader of Hezbollah, is quoted:
•         "[I]f they [the Jews] all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide."
•         "Put a knife in your shirt, then get close to an Israeli occupier and stab him."
•         "Our hostility to the Great Satan [America] is absolute. . . . Regardless of how the world has changed after 11 September, 'Death to America' will remain our reverberating and powerful slogan."
•         "Martyrdom operations -- suicide bombings -- should be exported outside Palestine. I encourage Palestinians to take suicide bombings worldwide. Don't be shy about it."

Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, spiritual guide for the Muslim Brotherhood declared:
•         "There is no dialogue between us [Muslims and Jews] except by the sword and the rifle …"

Hezbollah's Founding Statement:
•         contains a section that reads: “We see in Israel the vanguard of the United States in our Islamic world. It is the hated enemy that must be fought until the hated ones get what they deserve. . . . Therefore our struggle will end only when this entity is obliterated. We recognize no treaty with it, no cease fire, and no peace agreements, whether separate or consolidated. We vigorously condemn all plans for negotiation with Israel, and regard all negotiators as enemies . . .”

And most recently the Times of Israel reported that the commander of the Basij militia of
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said in an interview:

•         “…erasing Israel off the map” is “nonnegotiable,”

Despite the overwhelming evidence, Michelson advocates that the Jews recognize Palestine for Palestinians, but Palestinians need not recognize Israel for the Jews.  He seeks no defined borders because he strives for all Israel to become Palestinian, such as seen on the Palestinian map; (not seen here is one with Hamas flag, terrorist’s kafiyyah, and rifle).  Further, while he states that status quo would lead to permanent “occupation” and “apartheid,” and cautions that the world would not stand by forever, he dares not admit that his recommendation would be Israel’s total annihilation.

Michaelson has vindicated the Palestinians’ rights to turning to the UN, thereby negating their obligations to comply with previous agreements.  How odd that he accepts non-existent Palestinian origin, history, past governments, artifacts, monetary system, and cultural heritage above the Jewish rights to land that has been theirs through Biblical times and International law.  Jews have de jure sovereignty over the entire Land of Israel and Palestine, including Gaza, the Golan, Judea and Samaria (West Bank), all of Jerusalem, and all of Jordan.

He is eager to have Palestinians occupy Israeli land, irrespective of the Balfour Declaration, the Treaty of Sevres, the Mandates, the Council of the League of Nations, U.N. Resolution 181, and Israel’s legal Statehood in 1948, and despite Israel’s winning the Arabs’ aggressive wars against the Jewish state.  Michaelson’s resolve is to reduce Israel until she is no longer able to protect herself against the Islamic scourge that has openly sworn Israel’s obliteration.  He is a turncoat who prefers “two states” because it will further enable Iran’s jihad against Israel and Western civilization.  The Forward, once a newspaper that sustained the assimilation and adjustment of the new Jewish immigrants of the new 20th century, has become a vehicle of betrayal of their future generations. ###

Freedom Is Not Free (An Important Cliché)
by rsguthrie

Yes, it’s cliché, but the reality of clichés is that they more often than not develop from fact and truth. The term “cliché” is most often used to denigrate a lack of imagination on the part of the writer. I don’t disagree with that label most of the time. Cliché writing as a practice is, like telling rather than showing, like a pox on your creation.

But that doesn’t change the fact that freedom is not free, and there are too many people in this world who have no idea what that cliché means.

All you need do is spend some time away from the Wii; away from the computer games, away from the virtual farming and gambling and world-building and Google Somalia, Laos, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Central Africa, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Sudan, Zimbabwe, or North Korea. And these are but the Top Ten war-torn countries in the world. Some of the most dangerous countries are in the Middle East (Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Pakistan, Mali, Syria, Libya, and Yemen). Mexico has become another of the most dangerous countries to which you can plan a visit.

Now let’s say this upfront: NONE of these countries are full of citizens who should be condemned. Just as true Islam does not support terrorism, violence, nor hate (radical Islam being the violent faction of the religion in a way as The Westboro Baptist Church is unaffiliated with the true Baptist faith). And neither do any of these countries necessarily represent even close a majority opinion of the radical beliefs nor approval of the horrific actions of some of its insane countrymen; these merciless, ultra-violent, murderers of the elderly, women, and children, most unforgivably coming from their own country.

Yesterday here, in the United States of America, we celebrated our 228th anniversary of our country’s birth as a nation dedicated to freedom. This weekend I also watched Born on the Fourth of July (Tom Cruise) and Nixon (Sir Anthony Hopkins). The latter I’d never seen. Much of the central theme of these movies was anti-war, anti-establishment, protest, protest, protest.

Agreeing or disagreeing I found myself PROFOUNDLY PROUD of our country. Not of our international policy or wars or anything smelling of Washington, but rather what was forged by our forefathers and many who came after them: Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin—later Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Kennedy, Reagan, Bush Sr., and, yes, Obama.

I do not claim a political party. The stature of our country is not eroding because of whomever sits in the Oval Office; we are in decline on the world landscape not because of a war against madmen who would sooner chop off the head of every free man and woman and child in the U.S.,  U.K., or other free non-radical country on earth; we are devolving because of the massive growth over the past decade or so of crippling polarism.

Life, for any of us—any skin color, religious belief, lack of religious belief, sexual orientation, or gender—does not, beyond the immutable Laws of Physics, exist at the far ends of the spectrum. Anyone who has seen the classic horror film, based on Edgar Allen Poe’s brilliant story, The Pit and the Pendulum, knows that the pendulum, no matter how far to either side it swings, makes a difference only the middle. In the case of Poe’s imagination, that action is horrific, so it may not be the best analogy. But I think you get the point.

While violence and hate and intolerance and insanity occur in the extreme, concepts like democracy (not to be confused with Democratic) and freedom (the freedom that allows explicitly for the aforementioned protests) occurs when one side meets the other somewhere between one extreme and the other.

So what is your point, Guthrie?

My point is a simple one, though less simple to practice: believe in your country; appreciate your freedom; and do BOTH before you act, speak, or even think a terrible thought.

YOU. ARE. FREE.

This does not mean mistakes aren’t made. This does not mean that just because you are paranoid that they aren’t watching. This by no means implies our government deserves less criticism. Just the opposite, in fact. Our forefathers (and the mothers behind them) encouraged such checks and balances.

THAT’S what we were supposed to be thinking about yesterday as we hung Old Glory, cooked burgers, lit the fuse and cheered for the fireworks. Too many people have lost that understanding. In our neighborhood, we listen to fireworks for at least two weeks before and after the 4th of July. It dilutes the meaning of the holiday. And it makes me sad.

Polarism. Forgotten patriotism. Neighbors not only mistreating neighbors but ignoring them altogether.

Mark theses words: It will be the seemingly small things that end us.
And by “us”, I mean humanity.

That’s where the individual becomes two and then four and then a million and then a billion. THEN we change culture, and next, the world. It doesn’t mean we have to agree on everything.
It only means we have to believe in each other’s FREEDOM.

Commentary from Wayne ...
Rob, my friend, I have to disagree with you about Islam. In the Quran,
there are at minimum of 109 verses calling for the deaths of non-Muslims.

Here’s a link to a few of them - KORAN commands to kill infidels
http://www.wvinter.net/~haught/Koran.html
By the same token, Christianity also has a large number of commands to kill, too. And so does Judaism.
All three branches of the Abrahamic religions have apologists, and cherry-pickers who don’t want to acknowledge the horrific-ness of their chosen faith, and those that wish to say, “No. My religion teaches us to love one another, and not to judge each other.” Yeah, it may say that once, or twice, but honestly, and objectively, none are religions of peace, or love. Just look to the holy books, and you’ll see this.
I think this world won’t be worth much until we cast of the chains of these Bronze Age belief systems. Does any believer not wonder out of all the things in life, why it is that these are the only remnants of that age that are still held on to? Seriously. Name one other thing from ancient history that is still kept, and held dear. Bet you can’t. [...]

The Pit and the Pendulum
by Edgar Allan Poe (published 1850)

Another of Poe's more popular works. It's the story of a man's attempt to survive in a torture chamber during the Spanish Inquisition, one of the most deadly inquisitions in history. This isn't really a horror story. It's more of a suspenseful thriller. If you had been sentenced to death in a torture chamber, what would you do? and what's in the Pit?
