TELL MSNBC TO FIRE SHARPTON!

Tell MSNBC to fire SharptonDear Conservatives,

This is a Call-to-Action to all Americans - the most important Call-to-Action we have ever issued - because the lives of police officers and the people they protect like you and me are at stake.

The time has come for MSNBC to fire Al Sharpton.

MSNBC needs to cancel "PoliticsNation" and kick him off the air.

And the reason is simple.

Sharpton is using his MSNBC program to wage his own personal war on our nation's police - with deadly consequences.

In the past, Sharpton was all about money.

On January 4, the New York Post reported that Sharpton used the threat of racism accusations to shake down companies like AT&T, McDonald's, Verizon, Walmart, Macy's, Pfizer -- even General Motors -- for hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to his charities and to "sponsor" his National Action Network conferences.

That's not all.

In an article published last November in The New York Times, Russ Buettnernov reported that Sharpton personally owes approximately $4 million in federal and state taxes and another $717,000 in unpaid corporate taxes.

Yet, despite these tax liabilities, he has been an honored guest at President Barack Obama's White House dozens of times since Obama took office in 2009!

But now he has gone too far.

Now he is targeting law enforcement. We need to stop him. And the Law Enforcement Action Network (LEAN) needs your help to get the job done.

Too often, law enforcement officers become victims of the justice system they have taken an oath to defend.

Through legislative and grassroots action, LEAN's mission is to protect police officers' personal and professional safety and to fight back against those who favor criminals at the expense of the police and the public.

That's why we are stepping up to stare down Al Sharpton - a racist who is using his bully pulpit as the host of MSNBC's PoliticsNation program to spread his propaganda, give voice to the mob and do both to line his pockets with blood money.

If you have been keeping track of the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and the resisting arrest death of Eric Garner in State Island, New York you know that Al Sharpton has been busy revving up racial hatred against police.

Late last year, thousands of protesters including the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown attended a march against "police violence" sponsored by Al Sharpton's National Action Network in Washington, D.C.

Once the marchers reached the Capitol grounds, Sharpton warned Congress that he and his supporters would not be ignored. Sharpton said:

"You thought you'd sweep it under the rug. You thought there'd be no limelight . . . We are going to keep the light on Michael Brown . . . and Eric Garner . . . because the only way you make roaches run, you got to cut the light on."

At the same time, marchers in New York City were chanting, "What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now!"

While mobs called for the death of cops, Sharpton did nothing to distance himself.

His silence was deafening.

Then the worst happened.

At the height of Sharpton's non-stop race baiting diatribe - when mobs were whipped into a violent frenzy - New York City Police Officer Raphael Ramos and Officer Wenjian Liu were shot dead in their patrol car - "assassination" style - to quote NYPD Police Commissioner Bill Bratton.

This is not political.

This is a matter of life or death for cops on the beat all across the country. This is a matter of life or death for people like you and me that they protect - people who might call the police for protection against criminal attack.

Do you want the police who answer your call to hesitate when they confront your attacker?

Do you want the police who answer your call to think twice about protecting you with lethal force because a race merchant like Al Sharpton might take to the airwaves, whip up mobs with racial hatred and single them out for attack?

We cannot have a hate-filled anarchist like Al Sharpton use his access to millions of homes across America as an MSNBC cable show host to provoke lethal "assassination style" attacks on police officers.

That's why I ask that you join with Law Enforcement Action Network by signing our petition to kick Al Sharpton off the air and cancel "PoliticsNation" before more cops find themselves in his vicious crosshairs.

As you will note, I have addressed LEAN's petition to Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO of Comcast Corporation - the parent company of MSNBC.

He could remove Al Sharpton from the MSNBC line-up in a second if he wanted to - and we need to make him want to.

Right now, "PoliticsNation" is a drag on the MSNBC prime-time line-up and it costs Comcast more to produce than they make in advertising revenue to keep it on the air.

We need to send Mr. Roberts a clear message that Sharpton is using his MSNBC show to incite violence and court disaster - and that Comcast will be blamed for future cop killings tied to Al Sharpton's race hate rhetoric.

Thank you for signing our Call-to-Action Petition - the most important we have ever circulated - today.

Sincerely,

Ron Hosko
Former Assistant Director of the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division
President Law Enforcement Action Network
