NEVADA - BRUSH FIRE ALERT 11/13/2014

There's Still One More Conservative
Fighting for a Seat in the Nevada Assembly...

AND SHE NEEDS OUR HELP!

As the saying goes, it ain’t over ‘til it’s over…

And it’s not over yet in Assembly District 26 in Reno!

This is a SOLID Republican district.

The incumbent is Assemblyman Randy Kirner (RINO-Kirner Tax).

Conservative Republican Lisa Krasner – a professor who teaches constitutional law (!) at Truckee Meadows Community College – filed to run against Kirner last March.

And because no Democrat filed in that race, Kirner and Krasner faced off in the general election.

Krasner signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge promising her constituents that she would “oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes.”

Kirner, on the other hand, is the Father of the Kirner Tax and a man who has voted not once, but TWICE to extend those “temporary” tax hikes (the “sunsets”) that were supposed to expire in 2011.

Kirner’s also the guy who single-handedly killed the “parental trigger” bill – in which parents whose kids are trapped in crappy public schools could vote to convert the school into a charter school - in the Assembly after it passed in the Senate last year.

Anyway, on election night it was reported that Kirner beat Krasner.

Or did he?

“The election count was halted for several hours and not reported, due to a ‘glitch’ in the main computer server,” Krasner advised supporters in an email this afternoon.

“This held up 10,000 hand-written, paper absentee ballots from being reported.  Of which approximately 1,200 absentee ballots were in Assembly District 26. When the election results finally were reported several hours later, from a ‘back-up server,’ it was reported that I lost by eleven votes.”

ELEVEN…VOTES!

You’d think that a race that close would automatically earn a recount.  Heck, even the hapless NFL automatically reviews every close scoring play.

But, no.  Not here in Nevada.

Instead Krasner has until Monday at 5:00 pm to decide whether or not to ask for a recount.

And if she does, she or her campaign has to pay for it herself.

Unfortunately, as you would expect, Krasner spent every last dime of her campaign money in the general election.  She left nothing on the table.

So this afternoon she sent an email out to supporters asking that they kick in to help fund the recount.

Now, I won’t lie to you.  It’s a long shot.  Recounts always are.

But eleven votes?

She only has to flip six miscounted absentee ballots to change this loss to another huge win for conservatives.

And with Gov. Sandoval preparing to submit another huge tax increase next session, it sure would be good to replace a serial tax-hiker with a conservative Pledge signer!

So before you start spending all your money on Christmas presents, please consider kicking in a few bucks for this recount effort.

After all, “they” said it was impossible for Republicans to take control of the Assembly.

“They” were wrong.

And sometimes lighting really does strike twice.

There’s an address there, too, in case you want to mail a check…but do it TODAY, because she needs the money by 5:00 pm Monday afternoon.

Thank you!

Nevada’s #1 Irritator of Liberals & RINOs

P.S.  Many of you donated money in the final days of this election to a trio of conservative candidates I recommended who the powers-that-be said didn’t have a chance.  But Jill Dickman, Vicki Dooling and Brent Jones all won their races.

Let’s see if we can’t help Lisa Krasner join them next year in the Assembly!
