OUR WEAKLINGS ARE LOSING THE WORLD'S RESPECT FOR THE U.S.A.

Why We Are Failing in Iraq
by Lee S Gliddon Jr

The Democrats are so foolish as to seek someone to blame for the debacle in Iraq that they have no strategic plan for either success or victory in that theater.

  • Blame Bush for the initial invasion.
  • Blame Al Malaki for no troops of any numbers to protect our victory.
  • Blame Republicans for supporting the surge that resulted in the victory in Iraq.
  • Blame anyone, but don't blame Obama for shortsightedness.
Obama mistakenly informed the world of the date we would withdraw our military from Iraq. He refused to converse with Al Malaki for many months after our forces departed. He refused to have our equipment, tanks, Humvees, artillery, mortars, machine guns and other arms delivered to the Kurds as it should have been. In short, what Obama did was speechify his boast of, "getting out of Iraq as promised,' and little else.

Now he has John Kerry, Secretary of State, a man with disdain for our military, going around saying..."There will be no boots on the ground in Iraq..."

Obama's other weakling, Chuck Hagel, Secretary of Defense, is mimicking Kerry's remarks.

Neither Obama, Kerry or Hagel has any idea as to how to win any military conflict and the world sees this as a fact.

Russia is set to enter Ukraine and guess what. Obama, Kerry and Hagel all speechify their line..."No boots on the ground..."

Ukraine has repeatedly asked for arms to repel Russia. What did Obama offer? MREs! For those that aren't familiar with the term MRE , that is the words describing 'Meals Ready to Eat.'

Now he offers much needed water to the Kurds in Iraq, and little else.

Obama has supplied millions of our money to HAMAS, speechified in their defense, and only lately spoke in Israel's behalf as they defended themselves from HAMAS terrorists.

The 'Why' we are failing in Iraq is evident. No plans for victory exist, no plans for military intervention exist, and no real leader that knows how to win an armed conflict exists in the Obama Administration.

Even a man such as I, with 4 years of military service, knows...Do not ever commit to a statement such as, 'no boots on the ground,' or 'we will be out of the country by (date positive)', because they both convey to the world foolishness and weakness!

Our distinguished Majority Leader of the Senate, Harry Reid, said years ago..."We have lost in Iraq..." Question is, was that 'wishful thinking...or was it speaking with knowledge of what the future would bring?'
