Thanks to ObamaCare, about 70% of
the “jobs” created and reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics are part time
jobs. Per the agency, if you work one hour a month, you are employed. In
California this translates in a 6% decline in income tax revenues for the first
six months of 2014. Wages on the decline, hours on the decline. Yet LA Mayor
Garcetti is about to put into place a $13 plus an hour minimum wage—a job
killer—making the poor poorer and some in the middle class thrown into poverty.
San Fran is going for a $15 an hour minimum wage.
To replace the workers are
robots—in fast food places a kiosk can take orders and payments, while robots
cook the burgers, etc. Minimum wage and ObamaCare is forcing the acceleration of
this process.
Incompetence, unions and
technology is killing other jobs, “The projected decline in postal service
workers is especially significant. In all, the BLS forecasts that the number
postal service jobs will fall by 139,000
between 2012 and 2022 — or more than all of the other disappearing occupations
put together. A number of factors are expected to contribute to this decline,
including continued drops in mail volumes as well as the ongoing financial
struggles of the U.S. Postal Service. The USPS has already cut tens of thousands
of jobs since 2012, and it is currently slated to cut another 15,000 jobs next
year.”
