Do Christians and Muslims Worship
the Same God?

By Albert Mohler
Does God care what we call Him? Do Muslims and Christians worship the same god? These are questions many Christians are asking these days, and for good reason.

When Moses encountered the call of God that came from the burning bush, he asked God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” (Exodus 3:13). God answered Moses, “I Am who I Am” (Exodus 3:14). God told Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations” (Exodus 3:15).

The response they received, "That it was founded on the laws of their Prophet [Mohammed] --that it was written in their Koran that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners; that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners."

Kamal Saleem (not his real name because his life is threatened) heard a voice call his name and saw Christ. This was miraculous, because up until then, Kamal was a Muslim. Kamal's powerful testimony makes clear that Allah, the god of Islam, is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Read More...

That Allah is not the God of the Bible is very clear. The Biblical God is called Yahweh (or Jehovah) nearly 9,000 times. Yet Allah is not called by that name even once in the Koran. God is also referred to as Elohim more than 2,500 times in the Bible, but again that word never appears for Allah in the Koran. The God of the Bible is called “The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob “Israel.”  Read More...

The United Nations, Western governments, media, universities, and talking heads  everywhere insist that Palestinians are suffering tremendous abuses from the state of Israel. Conversely, the greatest human rights tragedy of our time—radical Muslim persecution of Christians, including in Palestinian controlled areas—is devotedly ignored. The facts speak for themselves. Reliable estimates indicate that anywhere from 100-200 million Christians are persecuted every year; one Christian is martyred every five minutes. Read More...
