The NFL's inexcusable lack of compassion for Michael Sam

In the drafting of Michael Sam, the NFL may have succeeded in keeping the Gay Gestapo off its back. But the league has fumbled badly by extolling behavior that may well turn out to be a death sentence for this young man. The NFL is celebrating the sexual equivalent of a brain concussion by going gaga over Michael Sam's sexual proclivities.

Muslims Pressure 9/11 Museum

Muslim groups began expressing concerns after members of the museum's interfaith clergy advisory panel raised alarms last month that the movie unfairly links Islam and terrorism. One member resigned in protest. Now the Council on American-Islamic Relations' New York chapter has asked the public to send letters to officials urging the removal of any "anti-Islamic terminology."

House won't move to arrest Lois Lerner
House Speaker John Boehner, during an interview with Fox News Sunday, acknowledged that the House does have the power to direct the sergeant-at-arms to arrest the former IRS official, but ruled out the possibility that he would do so.
Kangaroo Courts on Campus?
There seems to be a full-court press on to get colleges to "do something" about rape on campus. But there seems to be remarkably little attention paid to two crucial facts: (1) rape is a crime and (2) colleges are not qualified to be law-enforcement institutions.
University corrects can't-thank-God professor
Students at East Carolina University have been told to disregard a professor's order that graduates can't "thank God" in their graduation ceremonies. ECU Assistant Professor Eli Hvastkovs informed his chemistry students of this thoughts.
