Draft Bob Beauprez for Colorado Governor
There are seven people running for the Republican nomination for Governor of Colorado. None of the seven have shown an ability to unite the Colorado GOP. None have shown the ability to win the tough race. None have shown the ability to raise the significant money they will need for a very tough race. None even seem to have a very strong, statewide grassroots network of support.

The frontrunners in the Republican primary include Colorado Secretary of State, Scott Gessler and former Congressman, Tom Tancredo. Both Gessler and Tancredo have high hurdles in terms of electability. Gessler has a series of ethics mishaps that are sure to be the basis of relentless attack ads and Tancredo ran four years ago for Governor as a third party candidate and lost handily.

It is time Colorado Republicans and the rest of us who can help get out and draft former Congressman Bob Beauprez for the nomination. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

Yes, Jesus Would Bake A Cake for a Gay Person
If a Christian owns a bakery or a florist shop or a photography shop or a diner, a Christian should no more be allowed to deny service to a gay person than to a black person. It is against the tenets of 2000 years of orthodox Christian faith, no matter how poorly some Christians have practiced their faith over two millennia.

And honestly, I don’t know that I know anyone who disagrees with any of this.

The disagreement comes on one issue only — should a Christian provide goods and services to a gay wedding. That’s it. We’re not talking about serving a meal at a restaurant. We’re not talking about baking a cake for a birthday party. We’re talking about a wedding, which millions of Christians view as a sacrament of the faith and other, mostly Protestant Christians, view as a relationship ordained by God to reflect a holy relationship. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

A Christianity Only American Liberals Would Recognize
From the point of view of the average Christian (and the average Muslim, and I assume the average Jew), a gay “wedding” is not a wedding. It reminds me of the story of Richard John Neuhaus, I think, being asked whether he thought some other denomination could ordain female clerics, to which he replied he didn’t think they could ordain even male clerics. Kirsten Powers and Jonathan Merritt don’t appear to grasp the most basic facts about their opponents’ argument (irony abounds here): they think the debate is over different types of marriages, when it is in fact over things that, according to the overwhelming majority, are not marriages . . . please click here for the rest of the post

To quote SM Stirling: the Times apparently feels that your national destiny should be fertilizer. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

Two Must Reads
Really, I need not say anything else. I know that is unusual, but just go read these two pieces.

The first is by Andy McCarthy.

The second is by Russell Moore.

Read them and retweet them and put them on Facebook. It will save me the trouble of having to repackage and repeat arguments made better that I could . . . please click here for the rest of the post
