1.  Why Unions Are Pouring Money Into Virginia & Why You Should Care
Union bosses and other out-of-state liberals–from Hollywood to New York–are pouring millions into the Virginia governor’s race.

They are, without a doubt, hell-bent on defeating Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and putting long-time Democratic party boss and fund-raiser Terry McAuliffe into the governor’s seat. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

2.  Charles C.W. Cooke eviscerates phony libertarian Virginia governor candidate Robert Sarvis.
Come, I will conceal nothing from you: while I am friendly to a lot of libertarian ideas, I am not hard-shelled about it. I am no Lsyander Spooner or Benjamin Tucker. But I do know enough about the subject to know that, say, I was name-dropping some of the old-time thinkers there that the modern anarcho-capitalists like. In other words: I at least know what a modern Libertarian looks like. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

3.  House Is About To Cave On The Farm Bill
Last week I wrote on the perils facing an opposition party, especially an opposition party that only controls one half of one branch of government and has a leadership that seems mostly composed of ninnies [Obamacare and the Governing Trap]. Today we have yet another example of what happens to conservative principles when they come into close contact with the good governance types.

This particular example comes from the way the farm bill is shaping up. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

4.  You will be made to care
At some point, those of you on the right who have completely ceded the field to the Democrats on so-called social issues will need to confront an uncomfortable reality.  There is no floor to the licentiousness of the statist social-engineering agenda.  We will not have a liberty-driven prosperous country built upon the ruins of the civil society.  We can only go so far with government-sanctioned and mandated gender-bending policies without destroying liberty.  Hence, you will be made to care.

As early as next week, the Senate plans to reintroduce the deceptively named Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), S.815, which essentially invites lawsuits on private employers who refuse to accommodate the subjective and transitory behavior of various “gender identities” – among them transsexuals and transvestites.  For the purpose of the bill, the term “gender identity” refers to “the gender-related identity, appearance, or mannerisms or other gender-related characteristics of an individual, with or without regard to the individual’s designated sex at birth.” . . . please click here for the rest of the post

5.  Obamacare: End it, don’t mend it.
Over the next weeks we will hear more and more calls from the left and from the Vichy Caucus of the Republican party to take action to un-screw Obamacare. From the left the call will be couched in terms of aiding people victimized by the violence done to the health insurance market by the Democrat party. The GOP’s Vichy Caucus will be crying that we need to “govern” and propose our own ideas. They will point to RomneyCare and the Heritage Foundation’s support for the individual mandate.

Don’t be deceived, the people advocating cooperating in finding fixes to Obamacare are no different than the Democrats who wrote and passed the bill. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

6.  In Alabama, the Chamber of Commerce Fires Shots Against the Tea Party
I have not really paid attention to the race between Bradley Byrne and Dean Young in Alabama’s first congressional district. But it suddenly flew onto my radar yesterday with news that the Chamber of Commerce is using it as its first base of operations to repel the tea party.

The only polling I’ve seen has Young slightly ahead but I am not sure about the quality of polling and my gut tells me that Byrne, an experienced politician, is ahead. He’s got the money and name ID to be ahead.

In any event, the Chamber of Commerce is spending $185,000.00 at the end to help Bradley Byrne. They want credit for repudiating the Tea Party even in Alabama. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

7.  Immigration Reform: One Tiny Step at a Time
The next challenge facing the conservatives will be the comprehensive immigration bill so beloved of Democrats and the Ruling Class. The ardor to pursue this has diminished since the horror of Obamacare has become evident but the desire is still there . . . please click here for the rest of the post

8.  Arrests, Citations Lurk at Union Group Approved by Obama Admin to Promote ObamaCare in Wisconsin
Among the 165 groups approved by the Obama Administration to promote or set-up ObamaCare in Wisconsin is Wisconsin Jobs Now, a liberal get-out-the-vote group affiliated with the SEIU. According to the federal Department of Health and Human Services, the organization is working as a certified application counselor, or CAC. Numerous individuals who have been employed by Wisconsin Jobs Now or who work there now have been investigated, arrested or cited by law enforcement agencies for legal violations. . . . please click here for the rest of the post
