Yesterday, at 4:23 PM eastern, Harry Reid forced a final vote on the Gang of Eight’s S. 744 – just a few hours after cloture was invoked – and it passed with 68 yays and 32 nays. Despite its passage, the Gang of Eight bill remains to be a terrible, unworkable piece of legislation that defies common sense. As it is “amnesty first” bill, S. 744 stands only to compound our illegal immigration problem as it fails to secure the border first. After the Senate vote, Sen. At a press conference yesterday, Rep. Walter Jones spoke against unconstitutional military action in Syria. Joined by Sen. Rand Paul, and Reps. Supreme Court Gay Marriage Ruling: Stigmatization of America
Throughout the United States, gay marriage proponents are celebrating, proclaiming that the Supreme Court’s rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California’s Proposition 8 has made the legalization of gay marriage the law of the land. They are now aiming at ensuring that gay couples may receive full marriage benefits in each of the 50 States. The problem is, the courts did not rule that gay marriage is constitutional, in the case of the Proposition 8 case. They ruled that the defenders of Proposition 8 had no standing.
