| This is a 2nd Amendment Alert! |
| Some of us are doing our best to hold the fort against those who want to tear down the Second Amendment, but we need your voice. An out-of-state group called Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a gun control group funded by New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, has been pounding our state with ads and putting pressure on legislators and the governor to infringe your constitutional rights. Senate Bill 221, an anti-gun measure, has already jumped some legislative hurdles but it still needs to pass out the legislature and reach the Governor's Desk. The Governor has not clearly indicated whether he will back the bill. He needs to hear your voice before a determination is made. The National Rifle Association has labeled this proposed legislation as an "extremist anti-gun bill" and is encouraging gun owners to oppose this bill. They agree that passage of this bill as written would create a "huge burden for law-abiding citizens" and warns, "it paves the way for universal background checks." Please call or email Chairman Jason Frierson, and politely tell him you oppose any further advancement of this bill. You should also call or email Governor Brian Sandoval's office and encourage him to hold firm against outside groups who try to infringe on the rights of law-abiding Nevadans. |
