IT IS CLEAR THAT OBAMA IS OVER HIS HEAD AND HE'S DROWNING US!

Is Obama's Presidency Crashing?

It's worth starting to ask right now whether President Obama is on his way toward joining the ranks of Millard Fillmore, James Buchanan, Zachary Taylor, and the others in the pantheon of presidential non-greats.

Obamacare is the president's signature achievement. It's not popular, it's getting less popular, and it will get even less popular as people have to live with it. Obama will call for more money to try to prop it up. But Americans won't be fooled again.

Obama couldn't even get minimal gun control legislation passed - even though that legislation WAS popular. So much for spending more than four years failing to build a relationship with the other elected branch of government.

A terrorist attack hitting mass numbers of civilians just got through our defenses for the first time since 2001. Everyone understands how difficult it is to prevent such things. But if it happens again - God forbid - there will be a thorough vetting of Obama's anti-terror policies and their role in possibly diminishing our security.

The president drew a red line on Syria. But it turned out there was nothing on the other side of the red line. Basic foreign policy is chess - you don't make a move without thinking through the consequences. Obama's red line was an incredible display of amateurism that will harm America's credibility around the world.

It's not clear whether the president is going to act to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. If the Mullahs get one or put themselves in a position to make a nuke quickly, it will be one of the greatest failures in the history of American foreign policy.

Whether Obama can still help himself is unclear. Obamacare is just bad policy - there's no escape from that. And it's doubtful he can become a new person who genuinely works with Congress.

Let's just hope he gets a better sense of realpolitik and acts to keep the nation and the world safe.
