Not to rub it in or anything, but for those of you who went to Carson City for this weekend’s Nevada GOP Central Committee meeting, boy, did you miss one heckuva First Friday Happy Hour at Bahama Breeze...
And not just because the first 100 people through the door received aFREE DRINK and everybody got a piece of my birthday cake!
No, you missed one of the best, most entertaining speakers we’ve ever featured, Dr. Ben Chavis.
Funny, irreverent, sarcastic…and thoroughly compelling in describing the success of his public charter schools in Oakland and how he did it. Not to mention the lynch-mob mentality of the local school board and teachers union that’s trying to shut them down.
And while he didn’t come out and specifically say it, we got the distinct impression that when U.S. News & World Report comes out with its high school rankings on April 15th, Dr. Chavis’ American Indian Academy in Chinatown might be #1 on the list!
Seriously, anyone who’s read his book, “Crazy Like a Fox,” or heard him speak onAlan Stock’s KDWN 720 AM radio program Friday morning will understand immediately why the Unionized Government (Mis)Education Complex hates this guy and is trying to destroy his reputation.
Now close your eyes and envision this for a second…
What if Ben Chavis agreed to start a charter school using his proven methods of achieving academic excellence right here in Las Vegas…with me and Alan Stock on the charter school’s board of directors?
Anyone doubt whether we Three Amigos could do better with less than the birdbrains running the schools today?
