Sitting next to a laughing Chuck Schumer on CBS' Face The Nation, John McCain didn’t mince words… He and other SenateRINOs oppose the proposed Paul-Lee-Cruz-Rubio filibuster of any legislation that undermines the Second Amendment.
Almost turning red in the face, McCain mocked Senators Paul, Lee, Cruz and Rubio and said: "I would not only NOT encourage it [a filibuster of Obama’s assault on gun rights], I don't understand it. What are they afraid of?"

They Took An Oath To Protect And Defend The Constitution...
Upon taking office, each and every U.S. Senator must take an oath, solemnly swearing (or affirming) to "support and defend the Constitution."
Specifically, each and every Senator states: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."
Yet, far too many of our elected officials, like John McCain, either refuse to take their oaths seriously or are simply confused when it comes to what the Constitution actually says.
More specifically, it is time to remind them of what the Second Amendment says:"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the word "infringe" means: "Act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on."
In other words, the unalienable right to keep and bear arms is not to be LIMITED... or UNDERMINED... or ENCROACHED upon.
It's time to remind Maverick John McCain and others in the United States Senate that they took an oath to support and defend the Constitution and until they get with the program... the American people will view them asIN VIOLATION OF THAT OATH.

Make No Mistake, McCain Knows Exactly What He’s Doing...
McCain continued his tirade on Face The Nation. After asking "what are they afraid of," he continued, "Why would a United States Senator want to block debate?"
We'll answer that one too for Mr. McCain, because he and others are obviously confused on that score as well.
A filibuster is NOT a measure to END DEBATE... a filibuster is a means of EXTENDING DEBATE. Voting to end a filibuster (otherwise known as Cloture) is a vote to end debate and proceed to a vote.
So, Senator McCain... Here's your question thrown right back at you... Why are YOU trying to end debate? What are YOU afraid of?
For weeks, Barack Obama and his allies in the Lamestream Media have been demagogueing this issue to death. Is Senator McCain perhaps afraid that a sustained filibuster will give the American people the opportunity to actually hear the other side of the argument and understand what is actually at stake?

McCain is Not the Only Problem...
To be clear, Senator McCain isn't the only problem. He's only part of the problem.
According to the Washington Times, "Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, also has said he would not support a filibuster."
And at this very moment, Senator Charles Grassley is still crafting his own"compromise" version of gun control legislation that, according to The Hill, IS GAINING TRACTION.
Why is it that too many Republicans in Congress reflexively and instinctively seek to negotiate and compromise even after being shown a clear and fool-proof path to victory?
They must be stopped. And as you have proven so many times in the past, only patriotic Americans like you can stop them.
You need to let them know, in no uncertain terms, that as far as you are concerned, any Member of the Senate who DOES NOT openly participate in a filibuster to block any and all legislative assaults on the Second Amendment is effectively voting in favor of an assault on the Second Amendment and in violation of his/her oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
That's a message they will understand. That's a message they will heed. And that’s the message we must drive home right here and right now.

There is Good News... Despite RINO Efforts to Snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory, We Have the Momentum.
Thanks in large part to your blast faxes, phone calls and letters on this issue, support for the Paul-Lee-Cruz-Rubio proposed filibuster in defense of the Second Amendment is gaining steam.
Just this week, in a press release lauding that growing support, Senator Mike Lee announced, "Thirteen senators have now signed a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announcing they will object to any new gun legislation that restricts the rights of Americans or leads to government surveillance of constitutionally protected activity."
Those 13 Senators who are vowing to stand up for the Second Amendment are: Senators Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Marco Rubio (R-FL), James Inhofe (R-OK), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Richard Burr (R-NC), Ron Johnson (R-WI), Mike Enzi (R-WY), James Risch (R-ID), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Dan Coats (R-IN) and Pat Roberts (R-KS).
That’s great progress, but the question remains, where is every other member of the U.S. Senate (or at least every other GOP Senator) who took an oath, "without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion," to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States?"
We have the momentum to defeat Obama’s legislative assault on the Second Amendment. But with too many Republican Senators still seeking to compromise or refusing to stop gun control legislation dead in its tracks, now is not the time to let up.
We must drive the point home. Now is the time to turn up the heat.
