RedState Briefing 02/11/2013

Morning Briefing
For February 11, 2013

1.  FBI arrest one Matthew Aaron Llaneza for trying to blow up San Francisco bank.
Short version: the feds arrested one Matthew Aaron Llaneza for attempting to blow up a bank for the Taliban; as is the FBI’s wont, they got him via a sting operation that was kept up right up to the moment where Llaneza pulled the remote trigger on the ‘bomb.’ Which is, obviously, fine by me: I want the FBI out there actively trolling the fringes for people who really, really want to blow up Americans. It saves a lot of time – and, of course, lives.

OK, do we all understand each other on the basics? Yes? Great. Moving on then… well, isn’t this just spiffy. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

2. Why is Bipartisanship a One-Way Street?
We really need to make Republican members of Congress sign a pledge that they will not engage in gang violence against the party.  This secretive bipartisan gang work is getting out of hand.

While working on ways to stop the hemorrhaging in our party from the Schumer/Rubio amnesty gang, I discovered today that Senator Coburn is working with a Democrat gang to advance a universal background check law.  To my knowledge, this news came as a surprise to his fellow conservatives in the Senate as well.  Who is he working with?  Among others, Chuck Schumer!  What in the world does Chuck Schumer have over the heads of senators from some of the most conservative states? . . . please click here for the rest of the post

3.  A *very* entertaining truth-to-power speech by Dr. Benjamin Carson.
I have to admit: Obama’s poker face is getting better.

He managed to maintain it in the course of oh, about seven or eight kidney punches that Dr. Benjamin Carson made about Obama’s policies on education, health care, fiscal responsibility, and bipartisanship (or, more accurately, the lack of that) at the National Prayer Breakfast. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

4.  Obama Administration Touts 38 Million Acre Lease Sale, But It’s Déjà Vu All Over Again
This week the Department of the Interior grandly announced plans for its March oil and gas lease sale in the Central Gulf of Mexico, off Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. The announcement might have been more fitting for Groundhog Day. . . . please click here for the rest of the post
