RedState Briefing 01/11/2013

Morning Briefing
For January 11, 2013

1.  A Tribute to Wes Goodman
It was a sad day last week when Wes Goodman left the Republican Study Committee, where he was Director of Conservative Outreach under the leadership of Congressman Jim Jordan. Wes is a solid Christian man, a classic gentleman in an age of few, a bleeding-heart conservative, and one of the most faithful allies for so many of us that his departure from the RSC will be a real loss. He’s not passing away, so don’t confuse this with an obituary, but is meant to be my personal tribute to him and his work at the RSC.  . . . please click here for the rest of the post

2. I do not say that Jack Lew’s signature disqualifies him for Treasury Secretary.
I am saying that it’s… well, look.  Seriously? When New York Magazine says that something is a problem for a Democrat, then something is a problem for a Democrat. That’s maybe going to go on our dollar bills if we’re not careful… or if Jack Lew doesn’t learn how to write his name out legibly. I suggest some emergency Palmer penmanship therapy. . . . please click here for the rest of the post

3.  TN-4: Scott DesJarlais Must Go
It’s not enough to vote conservative.  We need members of Congress to live the lives of conservatives.  At a time when every aspect of our traditional American value system is under assault, we need strong leaders who can defend those values through word and deed.

What has long distinguished our party from the Democrats is that we don’t tolerate immorality among our ranks.  Adultery should not serve as a resume enhancer. . . . please click here for the rest of the post
