WILL ROMNEY SUE REID? HE HAS A CASE!

by whoopie

Win or lose, after this election is over Mitt Romney should sue Harry Reid for slander and defamation of character.
The only way these Democrats will learn that you can’t get away with a baldfaced lie and dismiss it as “political hardball” is if they are forced to suffer the consequences.
Harry Reid made a bold allegation. He said that he has an anonymous source who claims that he knows that Romney paid no taxes for ten years.
Reid wasn’t very specific. There are two ways a person can avoid paying taxes. Evasion, which is a crime or by taking lawful deductions which cancel out any tax liability which is entirely legal.
The way Reid stated it, it sounds like he’s accusing Romney of criminal tax evasion.
By suing Reid for slander, Reid would be compelled under oath and the rules of discovery to identify his anonymous source.
Reid is not a journalist and can not claim “freedom of the press” in protecting his source. He must give up the person’s name or be held in contempt and risk prison time.

Then the source, assuming he even exists would be subpoenaed to appear in court and show evidence or explain how it is he came to know what he claims.
Frankly, it seems highly unlikely that Romney could evade his taxes for ten years and not be arrested by the IRS. It seems even less likely that having committed a felony, Romney would brag about it to his friends at Bain Capital.
And if Romney took lawful deductions which canceled out whatever taxes he might owe (not a crime) the only way someone at Bain would know that is if they somehow stole ten years worth of copies of his tax returns (that would be a crime).
At some point, Reid would be forced to admit that he fabricated the entire thing. And that he did so in an attempt to sway a Presidential election (a felony). His career would be over. He’d be forced to resign in disgrace.
But most importantly, it would send a message that shenanigans like this will no longer be tolerated. It would be a first step in cleaning up politics.
And I don’t want to hear Romney shrug and say “Well, that’s just politics.” Bullshit! Dan Rather tried it in 2004 with his National Guard smear of George Bush. Now Reid is doing the same thing.
This crap has got to stop or one day some Democrat is going to accuse a GOP candidate of raping and murdering children. Enough is enough. We are sick of the way the Democrats pull this shit and never pay a price for it.
If they can’t win fair and square then maybe they should just disband the Party. And if they don’t it should be outlawed as a criminal enterprise. Any rookie FBI agent could easily make a RICO case against the DNC, it’s that obvious. Money laundering, coercion, intimidation, corruption, influence peddling. It’s as much a racket as it is a political party.
