SILVER STATE CONFIDENTIAL 10/23/2012

ATTENTION: EARLY RISERS

Short e-newsletter this evening.  Too much on the proverbial plate this close to Election Day…including my research into those “non-partisan” judicial and other races.

Speaking of which, I’ll begin sharing my thoughts and recommendations on this year’s balloting tomorrow or the next day. So if you’re not 100% sure of EVERYBODY and EVERY ballot issue…don’t vote early!  Help is on the way.

Now, with that out of the way…

Our own Dan Burdish, Citizen Outreach’s CEO and “man with the plan,” is scheduled to be on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” tomorrow morning from 6:30 – 7:00 a.m. Pacific.  HostJohn McArdle will kick off the program by asking a few questions about the elections, particularly as they relate to Nevada, followed by questions from viewers from across the country.

Tune in!

OPERATION IRRITATION

UPDATE:  We’ve successfully raised the full amount to keep our “Operation Irritation” billboards up around the Las Vegas valley for the duration of early voting.  I paid to put them back up this afternoon, so they’ll start showing up again at the same locations as over the weekend around midnight tonight.

Thanks to all of you who contributed to irritating Clark County liberals for the next two weeks!

DRIVE-BY MUTHINGS

In a follow-up to my item yesterday about the Republican state Assembly candidates who have a real shot at winning their races and picking up a seat if things break their way, I inadvertently left Wesley Duncan’s name off the list.  Thank you “DD” for bringing it to my attention.

Duncan does, indeed, have a shot at knocking off incumbent Democrat Marcus Conklin.  I can only blame the oversight on the fact that, unfortunately, Duncan hasn’t signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, so his race isn’t exactly on my radar or in the front of my mind.

And as another reader pointed out, I also didn’t include Michelle Fiore on my list - but not because I don’t think she has a chance to win.  Fiore is a Republican running in a Republican district to replace a current Republican assemblyman.  She should be a lock to hold this seat, but it won’t be a pick-up of a Democrat seat.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“If Romney officials are increasingly confident about Florida and Virginia, they are more bullish on Iowa than Wisconsin - which has emerged as a must-win if Obama holds on in Ohio. And they are more optimistic about Colorado than Nevada, which Obama aides now flat-out predict will be an Obama win. Romney isn't abandoning Nevada yet, though, and will visit the state this week on a western trek." – POLITICO, 10/22/12
