| If there was a Domino Theory for the Middle East, Jordan might be considered the next to fall. With Iran-backed Hezbollah to Israel's north, crumbling but heavily armed Syria to the northeast and Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood to the south -- not to mention Hamas and the Palestinian Authority on its doorstep -- only Israel's eastern boundary with Jordan seemed to pose no immediate risk.
