Jerry Brown is demanding over 800,000 Californians pay a special “rural fire fee” to give these property owners fire protection. That is the protection their taxes already pay for. Some say this is a special situation.
In Cook County, Illinois they have a variance.
“Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle recently announced plans to penalize, through taxation, the sale of guns and ammunition sold in the City of Chicago and its suburbs. This penalty is set to be proposed to the Cook County Board of Commissioners next week. Proposals such as this are frequently sold to the public as a way to reduce crime and increase tax revenue.”
You thought your tax dollars went for the basic service of police and fire protection—not according to the Democrats in Sacramento and Cook County—they want to add taxation to the menu of Depression causing government actions.
Prediction: Next year Brown and his buddies will introduce a ”victims” fee on guns and ammunition in an attempt to rid us of our Second Amendment rights—another reason for liberals to want gun registration.

Many people with just average intuition can easily sense that the economies of the US and Europe have long jumped the track. An article published The Economic Collapse shows graphically, with charts, that our current financial, monetary and economic system is not sustainable.
Well, if the powerful billionaires who run the planet are really for sustainability, as they constantly say -- like Canadian billionaire and socialist Maurice Strong who wrote the sustainability manifesto Agenda 21 while serving as Secretary General of the UN Environment program -- one naturally wonders how the sustainability minded elites who run our planet could serve up such economically unsustainable programs, the wreckage of which we are seeing in our pocketbooks, in the supermarkets and at the gas pump.
Put simply, Strong's sustainability plan, which is being implemented by many national and even local governments throughout the world, is aimed at reducing population. The text of Agenda 21 explicitly says so.
When it comes to economics, no one in Strong's circle, in or out of the UN, has breathed a word about how dismally unsustainable the economies of Europe and the US have become even as Agenda 21's sustainability programs are being increasingly implemented everywhere. The elites in both regions continue to print ungodly amounts of unbacked money a la Weimar and rack up unpayable debts.
Of course, if sustainability is defined as population reduction, then the whole plot becomes crystal clear.
Economic unsustainability is ecological sustainability if seen from that perspective. After all, it leads to impoverishment and then, if unchecked, to starvation and hence, population reduction. Mission accomplished. It is that simple.
Socialist Strong's predecessors include socialist Joseph Stalin, who starved as many as 6 million Ukrainian farmers to death (by confiscating their grain), socialist Mao Zedong, who starved millions of Chinese peasants to death (by confiscating their grain), and national socialist Adolph Hitler, who starved an unspecified number of Jews to death in concentration camps by withholding food.
Of course, these predecessors killed most of their victims by more brutal methods.
But the world of Fabian socialism is a kinder gentler world. Aren't we lucky? Don Hank

Here in the State of Montana, included on every ballot is a line underneath each race that voters can write "No," or "None of the above." Should "No" receive more votes than the candidates listed, a special election would have to be called with new candidates. I don't mind telling you that I will be voting "No" on several races this year. I wonder what would happen if just one time--one time!--voters rejected both candidates for a given race.
