STOP HR6241 AND S3458 - STOP ANY U.N. GUN BANS!

Dear Patriots,

The first two shots were slightly off target, but they’re reloading and ready to fire again.

I’m not referring to your friends at the range . . .

. . . I’m talking about bureaucrats at the United Nations hell-bent on restricting our Second Amendment rights.

Last week’s Programme Against Small Arms meeting in New York City ended with this quote from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s spokesman:

“ . . . this success should give further impetus to the efforts to conclude the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) process in the nearest future.”

What this means is, the United Nations and Hillary Clinton’s stated goal -- passage of a UN Gun Ban -- is alive and well.

No individual committed to protecting our Second Amendment rights should leave this battle claiming permanent victory.

Our anti-gun opponents are in this fight for the long-run, and you can bet the National Association for Gun Rights is, too.

The fact is, without your grassroots efforts, the first two shots at forcing UN-style restrictions on our Second Amendment rights would have faced scant opposition from the Washington, D.C.-institutional gun lobby who for years told gun owners to pay little attention to the UN “Small Arms Treaty.”

The members and supporters of the National Association for Gun Rights have been leading the opposition to the “Small Arms Treaty” since October of 2005 . . .

. . . and will continue to do so in the battles that lay ahead.

With less than two months left before November’s elections, gun owners must stay mobilized against ALL imminent assaults on our gun rights.

And, after reviewing the DNC’s recent platform positions agreed upon at their convention in Charlotte, it’s more clear than ever that if given the opportunity, elected officials in Washington will jump at the chance to pass features of a UN Gun Ban through Congress.

As you may know, Congress returned to Washington this week, and already a flurry of anti-gun activity is beginning to take shape.

Gun-grabbing Democrat U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein promised she would make a push for a new so-called “Assault Weapon Ban” using recent shootings as a reason to do so.

With supportive Republican Senators like John McCain, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, cobbling together an anti-gun coalition in the Senate to get such a bill to President Obama’s desk before November’s election is a threat gun owners should take seriously.

Waiting with baited breath to appease their anti-gun base is Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who used Senate procedure to keep alive his “Cybersecurity Act” (S. 3414) before leaving for Congressional recess last month.

Last month, NAGR members and supporters led the fight againstthe “Schumer Magazine Ban” amendment to Reid’s bill, which would ban magazines used commonly by gun owners for self-defense and sport shooting.

If passed and signed into law by President Obama, a gun owner caught with one of these so-called “high-capacity magazines” could be looking at the inside of a prison cell for the next ten years.

Gun-grabbing legislators are also pushing a bill (H.R. 6241 and S. 3458) that would outlaw the sale of ammunition onlineand impose other regulatory burdens on law-abiding individuals who wish to purchase ammunition.

The legislation would impose government-mandated reporting requirements on face-to-face transactions over 1,000 rounds or 1,000 rounds cumulative in 5 consecutive days.

There are literally dozens of pieces of legislation that would restrict our gun rights lined up and ready to make their way through Congress at a moment’s notice.

That’s why I’m asking you to welcome back your U.S. Senators and Representative with a phone call demanding they oppose any attack on our Second Amendment rights.

Please contact them at 202-224-3121.

Andrew Jackson once said that the price of liberty is “eternal vigilance.”

If you and I don’t stand in the gap in the battle to protect our individual, God-given right to protect ourselves and our families, who will?

That’s why gun owners must stay “eternally vigilant” against the constant attack on our gun rights.

Anti-gunners working to restrict your rights are not giving up, whether it be at the United Nations or in Congress.

The UN Gun Ban will rear its ugly head in some form again in the coming weeks . . . and the National Association for Gun Rights will be sure to alert you when to take action.

For Freedom,

Dudley Brown
Executive Vice President

P.S. The National Association for Gun
Rights is only able to lead the fight to protect our Second Amendment rights because of the generous contributions of members and supporters.

Would you chip in $3 or $5 to fight for our gun rights?
