ILLEGAL ALIEN SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL RAPE
On Thursday, a Superior Court judge sentenced Jose Angel Moreno-Hernandez, 29, to 80 years in prison for repeatedly raping and beating a female co-worker who offered to drive him home in March 2009.The victim testified that once in the car, Moreno-Hernandez propositioned her and then attacked when she refused his advances dragging her by the hair into nearby woods. During the assault, Moreno-Hernandez stomped up and down on his victim, twisted her neck and repeatedly punched her with a closed fist and raping her in between his fits of rage. The brutality only ended once the woman pretended to be dead.
Throughout Thursday’s proceedings, the illegal immigrant showed no emotion and told the judge: “I don’t know what happened.” Moreno-Hernandez’ defense attorney asked for a more lenient sentence, saying: “We ask that you give him one more chance, to breathe fresh air.”
