In our last "Parallax Prophecies" column entitled, "Are Americans to be Herded Like Cattle", we laid the groundwork for this article, wherein we touched on the basic concept of "A Culture of Resistance."   As a society slips into the jaws of fascism, or the irrational mob (think Occupy Wall Street, or Greek riots) of an Absolute Democrat Monarchy, it approaches a point at which peaceful resistance is no longer an effective action against rising government tyranny.  The door slams shut and that is the end of freedom.  Even if the people were to engage in an armed revolt against the government, there is no guaranty that the outcome would be beneficial to the revolution, once the tipping point was reached.
 
The trick is to create "A Culture of Resistance" that ripples like a tidal wave through the fabric of society, long before those jaws of fascism close for good, a resistance that vigorously but peacefully challenges the prevailing wisdom or the brainwashed mindset of obedience, compliance and loyalty to authority.  This brainwashed mindset is called socialism or communism and has happened many times throughout human history, advocated by governments (the "BULLY") seeking greater control over the people.  It happened in Germany twice in the 20th Century with unimaginably tragic consequences.  It is happening in all of Europe now and has been happening for decades.  Central and South America have been consumed by dictators and despots for centuries, with a few exceptions.  Many are well beyond the jaws of fascism.  It has never stopped happening in Russia and ChinaAfrica is a lost cause.  But far worse, this mindset is now happening in America, once the land of the free.  America was supposed to be immune from this shift to socialism and nanny government ..... wasn't it?  It appears not! 
 
In a somewhat prophetic article we wrote back on December 7, 2007 entitled, "Resist, Resist, Resist" we said this:
 
"Our individual freedom and our sovereignty are in grave peril.   If we do not wake up, and soon, we risk losing both.  If we don't start resisting the government's usurpation of the "Consent of the Governed", in a decade or so, America, land of the free, will be unrecognizable and we will be anything but free."
 
Almost four years later and three years of the Obama Regime, our admonition is even more dire, after the explosion of debt and institutionalized socialism by Obama, Pelosi and Reid specifically and by the Democrat party in general.  We are slowly approaching the point where peaceful resistance may not work any more, but thankfully, we aren't there ..... yet!
 
Nevertheless, a peaceful kind of resistance has already been showing signs of confronting the "BULLY" with significant muscle.  On the national level, the rise of the Tea Party is evidence of one form of grass roots peaceful resistance.  A good portion of that resistance first manifested itself in angry town hall meetings in August of 2009 as Obama, Pelosi and Reid used every dirty trick in the book to shove Obama Care down our throats.  When Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress succeeded, the anger grew exponentially and it is still growing today.
 
But even more positive things are happening at the local level.  As some of you may know, the United Nations affiliate called the "International Council For Local Environmental Initiatives" (ICLEI) has infiltrated hundreds of cities and counties around America, to implement United Nations social and environmental policies as delineated in the 1972 Earth Summit's Agenda 21, covering social justice and environmental protection through what are called Smart Growth and Sustainable Development.  Your local government is using your tax money to destroy more of your freedoms through ICLEI.  This infiltration by a foreign entity is tantamount to an invasion of America's sovereignty, wherein social engineering and environmental protection have been given a greater priority over constitutional safeguards and protections.  After almost 30 years of this invading force taking over our local governments, some folks are finally fighting back, county by county and city by city.  They are forcing local governments by petitions or initiatives, to cancel their contracts with ICLEI.  This again, is another form of peaceful resistance.
 
In Bonner County, Idaho they have established a Property Rights Council (PRC) that advises the county commissioners on whether existing or pending legislation, regulations, or ordinances are in compliance with constitutionally protected property rights.  This Council is a first of its kind in America and focuses on how government actions affect property rights.  It is quite likely that councils of this kind will begin to blossom in county after county.  (NOTE:  We will be doing a full article on Bonner County's PRC in the very near future.)  Once again, the American people are fighting back through the process of peaceful resistance at the local level. 
 
Fred Kelly Grant of Stewards of the Range fame, has been training local citizens on a legal process called "Coordination", which allows local governments to intervene in federal actions before they can be approved, adopted or passed into law.  This is just one more example of peaceful resistance.
 
Several adjoining counties in southeastern California have even discussed seceding from the state.  Now that's outright blatant resistance!
 
Even county sheriffs, especially rural ones, are finally using the 10th Amendment to assert their rights as the highest law enforcement officer in their county and are challenging federal agencies and federal law enforcement to deal with them before the Feds exercise any control within the sheriff's county.  Here again, this is another form of peaceful resistance against rising federal government tyranny.
 
The fact is ladies and gentlemen, a "Culture of Resistance" is already rising like a fast spreading virus and is infecting more and more Americans as they learn that they still have political power and influence on government, under their absolute natural God-given rights as the "Consent of the Governed."  Through growing awareness and spontaneous eruption of anger, frustration and activism over government abuses, the sleeping giant of the American spirit is awakening and it is on the prowl in search of freedom and liberty.  This hungry giant is not about to be denied and those that oppose the giant would be well advised to get out of its way.  The giant is coming through the manifestation of determined peaceful resistance!
 
Americans are finally beginning to realize that the weapons of peaceful resistance lie in the recesses of our cherished Constitution, both federal and state.  They are finding that the 10th Amendment is not just words, but has real teeth when confronting the "BULLY" that is the federal government, or all governments for that matter.  This all-important Amendment states:  "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
 
The enumerated powers delegated to the Federal Government under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, are 17 in number and ALL OTHER RIGHTS, that's ALLOTHER RIGHTS, are reserved to the states and the people.  The problem is that for 100 years, the executive and legislative branches of the Federal Government have been working in tandem with each other to concentrate their power by expanding the 17 enumerated powers.  They have done so by unilaterally increasing the Executive Branch's authority and by interpreting the "Commerce Clause" and the "Necessary and Proper Clause" as carte blanch authority to do whatever they damn well please.  This egregious expansion of power has been aided and abetted by ill-advised legal decisions from the judicial branch, namely the United States Supreme Court.  No, these supreme justices don't always get it right!
 
While the federal government was unconstitutionally expanding its powers, the American people went about the business of living, working, playing and praying, blindly trusting that their government would handle the duties of government efficiently, honestly and diligently.  Little did they know that special interests would infiltrate the halls of government and co-opt its responsibilities with anti-American and anti-constitutional policies, just as communists, socialists and the unions have co-opted the now unruly and out-of-control "Occupy Wall Street" crowd.  
 
The people also forgot the axiom that says all power will work to expand its power unless held in check by an equal or greater power.  That greater power can only be the people.  Nor could we have known, unless we had been paying special attention, that our public schools had also been infiltrated by special interests that were writing anti-American policies into school curriculums and text books and were systematically brainwashing and indoctrinating our children, those same children that would grow up to become part of the government staff, but far worse, they would become voters as well.
 
The disturbing reality that we must all deal with is that a mindset change occurs very slowly within a culture.  What took 100 years to institutionalize will not be undone overnight.  As a general rule, people resist change and it can take generations for a new concept or even an old idea to take hold in a society.  Those that like it "just the way it is" will fight tooth and nail to maintain the status quo.  To overcome this resistance will not be easy.  The best advice is, when you are walking down or up a steep hill, it is wise to take "short steps", lest you risk falling on your face, or starting an avalanche.
 
We have devised a series of "short steps" that can be employed at the local level to create "A Culture of Resistance".  We have taken the 10th Amendment even deeper into the realm of effective peaceful resistance by providing small groups of local citizens with specific tools that will allow them to expand their influence on and the power over local and state government and ultimately, the federal government.  We are currently refining these "short steps" and will be announcing the details in the coming weeks, as a coherent plan to create a growing and effective "Culture of Resistance" throughout America. 
 
"The Parallax Prophecies" predicts that this "Culture of Resistance" will grow and grow, even as massive attempts to inhibit it, or stop it all together, increase from those who like it "just the way it is."  But America can no longer survive the status quo and significant changes must occur, or a free America will surely die.
 
Stay tuned as we unveil the short steps to a "Culture of Resistance" in subsequent columns of "The Parallax Prophecies", in an organized system of resistance that we have named "County NRC's", implemented county-by-county, all across America.
