Angela Merkel doesn't seem to realize that the "new Europe" (i.e., the EU, the euro zone) was what caused the calamity in the first place.
Psst, hey, Nick, some time just gently pull Angie aside and break it to her that it's all over and time for you both to move on.
Hmm, instead of being King and Queen of Europe, maybe she could be, say, Chancellor of Germany and you could be Prime Minister of -- oh, I don't know, maybe... France?
