A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER

RUBIO ADOPTS TOUGHER STANCE ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

On TuesdayFlorida Senator Marco Rubio retreated from his past support for tuition breaks for the children of illegal immigrants that he supported as a state lawmaker saying, “We are a nation of laws. If you’re here in violation of the laws, you shouldn’t benefit from these programs.”

His remarks resemble the position taken by presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who as governor ofMassachusetts vetoed tuition assistance for the children of illegal immigrations. Rubio, considered a rising star in the GOP, has said that he would turn down any offers of vice presidency though his reformed stance on tuition breaks hints that he is carefully positioning himself.
