MAIN STREAM MEDIA BECOMES 'ENEMEDIA'

For some time I have sounded the alarm on the enemedia, and not for their obvious left wing bias, which is as standard and old as Cronkite himself. But I have sounded the alarm on them for far worse than that: the activist role they have assumed and the incalculable damage they have done and are doing.
Remember the Disney flick, Honey, I blew up the kids? Well this is the real life version. The thumb suckers and anti-intellectuals in the media and academia sort of resemble the giant toddler, but less precocious and more Godzilla. Devoid of reality, objectivity or reason, they actively impose their fantasy on an unsuspecting public, even throwing their own under the bus (i.e., Lara Logan) when their narrative is in danger of being revealed by the consequences of avoiding reality.

Case in point: Osama Bin Laden. Despite bowing to the sharia, as the media does as practice (do not criticize or insult Islam) -- the rare instance where the media did not put a smiley face on savagery and Islamic brutality was in the reportage of Osama Bin Laden. Only the Ground Zero mosque radical Rauf blamed the West for 911, blamed the West for Osama. This was the only instance where the media didn't follow that narrative. He was evil, the ideology that motivated him was evil, and the media did not give OBL a free pass. Which is why huge crowds (especially young people) took to the streets in spontaneous jubilation. The rejoice of the good triumphing over evil.
OTOH, the media made it their mission by objective to demonize Israel and exalt savagery. The media erased the history of Palestinian Jews and Palestinian Muslims, Trans-Jordan (Palestine) and the Muslims' relentless war on the Jews. They hated the Jews as hard as they could, using "Israel" as if the two were not one and the same. They poisoned an entire generation of lazy thinkers and students of the left to despise Israel, no matter its goodness. They ignore the obesity in Gaza (otherwise known as Fatland). They ignore the fact that Gaza gets the most foreign aid per person of anywhere else in the world. They ignore the fact that Israel supplies the water and the electricity to their would-be executioners, despite the Islamic hatred of the Jews.
Despite Israel's complete vindication in the last jihad flotilla, these urbane co-conspirators offer up their massive media artillery to this century's Nazis while cloaking themselves in a thoroughly debunked and fallacious delusion of altruism. What's important is that it makes them feel good, not how many people die because of it, or their absolute complicity in making way for the next Holocaust. This is what they do. Proudly.
Here is a rather good comment posted by "Hammersdad" over at Lucianne: (hat tip Katherine Park):
The MSM is not simply a gaggle of biased observers. They are conscious active participants in a political struggle for control of American life, production (!?!), and livelihood. They are active roster players in a contest whose prize is global dominion. They are not journalists. They are not reporters. They are ideological apparatchiks from the Progressive/Liberal/Totalitarian/Socialist Ministry of Truth.

The evil old Soviet Empire had its Pravda. Our contribution to the rape and disfigurement of fact, meaning, and significance is much more powerful, much more invasive, and appallingly more ubiquitous than that. Our omnipresent MSM is powerful in ways beyond anything the despots in the Kremlin ever dreamed or thought of.

Don't forget the power popularity and penetration of Facebook, YouTube, and the like. Never mind the momentary limited pleasure we got from Mr. Breitbart's videos. These are devices for raising mobs. The popular uprisings in the Middle East were products of Facebook, and the Iranians showed perfectly well what state control of that medium can and will be used for.

Be very very afraid.

NY Times, CNN to Travel Aboard Flotilla
Alana Goodman 06.21.2011 - 3:46 PM
Journalists from a variety of news outlets – including the New York Times and full camera crews from CNN, CBS – will be covering the anti-Israel flotilla from aboard one of the ships, according to The Nationcorrespondent Joseph Dana (who will also report from the flotilla).
While it’s hard to blame reporters for seeking out a colorful story, they should realize by joining the activists on the boat they are actually making themselves a part of the story. They will be with the flotilla when it attempts to violate international law by trying to break Israel’s legally-established naval blockade. And they could potentially interfere with the Israeli military’s ability to do its job if IDF soldiers are forced to board the ships.
The one upside of this development is at least now flotilla activists will have a more difficult time  attacking IDF soldiers with knives once the network news cameras are rolling. But the unfortunate downside is these reporters are giving the flotilla activists exactly what they’re aiming for – media attention. Seeing as there’s no humanitarian reason for the flotilla (which is even more obvious now that the Egyptian border with Gaza has been opened), its only point is to generate publicity. The activists are sure to receive a lot of media coverage this time around – and they won’t even have to resort to stabbing soldiers to get it.
