GOP'S WEST AND BROWN DOING THE PEOPLE'S JOBS CORRECTLY!

Giving you the latest information on what is going at Capitol Hill, the Weekend Congressional Update lets you know what leaders are up to in Congress and the stories behind the news.
Rep. Allen West's bill to boost small business and the economy
Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West (R-FL) – a leading Conservative voice in Congress – recently called on Congress to enhance the backbone of the American economy by co-sponsoring his Small Business Encouragement Act, HR 1663 in the House.

Rep. West stated that, "As our economy begins to recover from the past recession, it is important for us... to pass legislation that helps our nation’s most effective job creators, our small businesses. Not only are small businesses the backbone of our economy, they are the backbone of our country. Today we face staggering unemployment hovering near nine percent, a massive deficit, and an unprecedented $14 Trillion in national debt. That is why I introduced [HR 1663]."
The bill would provide small businesses that make less than $20 Million or that employ less than 100 full time employees a tax credit for hiring unemployed workers in 2012 and 2013, and would double the credit for employers who hire from counties with employment rates above the nation average.
