New Mexico No Longer A Sanctuary For Illegals Gov. Susana Martinez said Monday that New Mexico is no longer a sanctuary state: Martinez ordered the reversal of the state's "sanctuary status," which prohibited law enforcement from asking criminal suspects about their citizenship.
