Senate Suspends Earmark Spending for Two Years
The man in charge of doling out federal dollars in the Senate, Appropriations Committee Chairman Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, announced Tuesday that his committee will implement a moratorium on earmarks for the next two fiscal years. New Mexico No Longer A Sanctuary For Illegals
Gov. Susana Martinez said Monday that New Mexico is no longer a sanctuary state: Martinez ordered the reversal of the state's "sanctuary status," which prohibited law enforcement from asking criminal suspects about their citizenship. Now, officers will be able to ask anyone they suspect of a crime about their immigration status.
